Anonymous: what was that whole blueberry/prune business in Eli's response? lol

Eli Roth’s fans are called “blueberries” because one night, he and Christoph were reading smut about the Basterds cast and Eli tweeted a photo of himself and Christoph and Christoph said something like, “is this going to go to everyone’s Blueberries?” instead of “Blackberries.”

Him saying “prune” was just his way of talking about the “haters.”

That was really Eli Roth saying those things… it’s really not that surprising, lmao. He talked about it in an interview:

A lot of members of ONTD showed their true colors when they came down on women being sexually aggressive or playful with you. How do you feel about this viewpoint that women shouldn’t behave in such a way?

Firstly, no one can tell a woman how she should or shouldn’t behave, that’s up to her and only her. I obviously have no problem with it and I find it absurd and hypocritical when others do.

I have thought a great deal about the whole incident, especially in terms of the way the other ONTD members reacted. Truthfully, I don’t think it’s fair to judge them based on their reaction, which shocked me at the time, but now actually makes perfect sense. Just hear me out on this. On the surface you can say “How hypocritical - these girls are all writing comments about how much they want to fuck someone, and then when another girl actually tells that person directly - and they respond - they freak out and call them whores.” And yes, that’s true, that did happen. But we were playing in their back yard. That message board is place they go to let go of inhibitions and talk dirty about celebrities. It’s where they can write phrases like “cumming buckets” and not get called a whore for it, because they’re writing it to each other, not to the actual person they’re writing about. They can’t act like that in their normal lives, but in this community, they can. And we were all pushing it farther and farther, and when it clearly turned into an ‘adult’ activity, we moved over to myspace. Now, on myspace, we can write privately to each other, and that’s what I assumed we were doing. Only about halfway through did I realize those messages were getting posted on ONTD - it honestly didn’t even occur to me that people would screencap what I was saying. Now, it’s naive of me to think that it’s going to stay between the two of us, but what we did was we took private messages between adults and reposted them in their forum. And they reacted accordingly. If you did not want to participate, you did not go over to myspace, you stayed on ONTD, and suddenly their board was being flooded with very graphic, very personal, very sexual messages that they did not ask for. The fun for all of us was seeing how far we could push it, and it was all in good fun and amongst adults, but if you are not ready to participate in a discussion like that and you saw that, you’re going to react by lashing out at others and calling them whores, like girls do in high school when they’re not ready to deal with sexuality like adults. They’re not in that forum for that kind of talk with the celebrity, they’re there to safely say those things behind the celebrity’s back. It’s too invasive. And you guys took adult subject matter and posted it in their forums, so honestly I’m not surprised at how they reacted.

Now, what would I have done differently? I would have suggested setting up a group like we now have if you want to repost messages. And I’m not blaming you guys for doing so - NONE of us could have anticipated they’d freak out the way they did, but looking back I can see why. So I don’t think it revealed their true colors, I think it revealed their maturity level. The prunes never in a million years expect the celebrity to read it or to react. Most girls who talk that way when you meet them in person are very very nervous, so nervous they can’t even make eye contact and they suddenly don’t know what to say. And so when they saw those messages it really threatened them. A lot of those girls are not ready for a conversation like the one we were having, which is why they reacted so harshly. Think of the girls in high school who were labeled ‘sluts’ for having sex - it’s so silly now once you’re an adult. It’s just adult behavior, but that’s how adolescents deal with the fear of it. The fear of not being able to measure up - the fear of rejection, all the deep personal things that adult sexuality forces you to confront. So of course they’re going to call you guys whores, it’s too much for them to actually do something like this, so they lash out at you for having done it. Nor did they ask for these messages - suddenly their space felt invaded by a conversation they never wanted to be a part of. And I take as much responsibility for it as you guys, I’m not blaming you, because the fun was you guys sharing it with each other, which of course fueled more messages, so even after I knew what was going on I still went with it. The Blueberries are women, young women, but adults, and they could handle it. Arguing with the Prunes is useless, because if they were not there for the genesis of the whole thing, or if they were and chose not to participate, then they will never understand. It’s not for everyone to behave that way, of course they’re going to judge. So I’d say if you want to still post about gossip on ONTD just know what it is and enjoy it for that. But sometimes you have to cross the line to know where it is, and we did that, and now we know. I wouldn’t hold it against any of those girls, they’re just reacting like girls who are not comfortable with their sexuality or ready to explore it. That said, I would not advise reposting this interview, which will be dissected and reprinted everywhere, and it’s really not for them.

Back to the first part of your question, I much prefer women who are sexually aggressive. I feel like it’s an adult activity and you should not be shy about saying what you want. The more you communicate the better the sex. Often it’s the girls I have sex with on the first date who I wind up dating for a long time. It’s all about chemistry for me. But a girl does not necessarily need to be aggressive for me to like her. Every relationship moves at its own speed and you have to respect that.

And the part at the bottom was just the initial poster’s commentary on the matter, saying that Eli is just like any other guy you would meet, except in Bear Jew clothing.

Omg how did you know!? That’s totally what I’m doing. He just got back here from LA. I let him run around with Peaches, but I kept a close watch on him. ;)

Well, I definitely like to keep his personal life off my blog as much as possible because that’s not what this is here for, but I answer all my questions minus my rudeopinions, haha.

But to answer your question, she is back in London now with her boyfriend and that is all that matters. It’s nice to see he can remain friends with his ex-girlfriend, and that regardless of what happened between them he has no hard feelings and neither does she. He’s allowed to hang out with whoever he wants.

Sorry, if I make them with a 500px width then they are too big in the KB sizing, so I keep them at 200px wide to ensure that they are under the KB limit!

Haha I don’t like her so say what you will! I try to keep his relationships out of my Tumblr for him because it is a blog dedicated solely to him.

However I answer every question I get about him. So that being said, no, he is not dating Peaches. Peaches is currently dating the lead singer (I think the lead singer…) of some band named S.C.U.M., I believe. Nicholas something-or-other, if I’m correct.

Last month, Eli was seen with an unidentified female, cuddling and kissing and walking hand-in-hand at a restaurant, so I’m to go off the assumption he is with her. I truthfully don’t know if he is still with her or not, because that was the last and only time he was seen with her.
